F1 2016 is one of the best simulation racing titles of all time. I know that’s a bold statement, but the gameplay is there to support the claim, as well as so much more. The job of simulating the sport of F1 racing for the masses is always going to be a tough one, but I firmly believe Codemasters has walked the fine line of. I haven't had an F1 game since F1 2010 which was a great game and the reviews of subsequent versions put me off getting it again. Until I read the reviews for the 2016 version which changed my mind. The game is excellent, well executed and career mode is awesome.

The handling has been improved to make the car feel more realistic, and you can finally feel the full weight of the car. As expected career mode is the real draw here. With 10 full seasons to play and the many different ways to develop your car, you can take your team from the bottom of the field to the front. Of course all the familiar features are present such as time trail and quick race as well.

The career mode turns out to be very hollow, allowing you to attain all upgrades by your second year. After all teams have completed their upgrades the grid order is the as year 1, Mercedes on top, Manor on bottom, with no more upgrades. Game becomes very dull too quick, and the options for controllers are lacking. Wheels have the advantage. The graphics are great, the sound is as real as real life f1 engine sounds nowadays, it really is a good improvement of F1 2015. The only thing I could complain about are the penalty inconsistencies.

I mean, during time trial, i could go all 4 wheels off the track, and nothing happens, but at other corners, if I slightly go over the kerbs, it says that my lap is invalid. Also, why isn't there split screen? I mean, what if I have a friend over who loves F1 who comes over to my house, imagine how disappointed he would because we can't play this game together? But those are some small nitpicks. I LOVE this game. It's great fun and I definetly recommend it. Oh, and two more things.

Multiplayer is good and the career is also pretty good. A solid racing game.
