This is merely an introductory guide to help beginning players navigate Entropia Universe until they can get their feet wet. You can choose to start the game at one of several different planets, such as Planet Calypso, RockTropia, or Planet Arkadia. Though these planets are connected through economy and game mechanics, each of these planets are owned and maintained by a different collaborative partner. A player owned vehicle capable of space travel is used to move between different planets. Traveling between planets can be time-consuming, expensive, and, because all of space is pvp, dangerous, therefore you should decide which planet you would like to start on carefully. Although this guide is based on experiences on Planet Calypso, this guide can be used for any planet.

Keep in mind, however, that places named in this guide are locations found on Planet Calypso. On Planet Calypso, you will begin your game in a tutorial section called Calypso Gateway. Once you leave Calypso Gateway, you can not return. A guide for the Gateway can be found. The fixed exchange rate of PED to US currency is 10:1, meaning 10 PEDs equal 1 US Dollar.

One can gain PEDs by depositing money, selling items/services, or winning events. Currency is stored on one's PED Card, located in the inventory window on the top tab. PEDs/PECs can be extracted from the PED Card to use for player-to-player trades. Any PEDs received from these trades will show up in the same inventory screen as the PED Card.

It will need to be dragged and dropped on the PED Card before it can be used for purchases of items from terminals or auctions. DepositingThough you can play the game for free and make some PEDs without depositing, most players find that depositing is preferable to the non-deposit route. For every ten dollars you deposit, you receive 100 PEDs. For depositing FAQs you can go or to deposit money into your account you can go.

There are only a few activities that can be done that costs nothing. There are the obvious, such as socializing and exploring, and the not so obvious, such as sweating and searching for ground items. You can sell sweat and ground items to other players. SocializingWhen chatting with other players, you can use the chat channels, private messages, or voice chat.

The chat channels, located at the bottom left of your screen, gives you several channels from which to choose: Local, Trade, Society, and Team. Press Enter to write in a chat window. The individuals who will be able to see your chat in Local and Trade channels, extend only to those individuals who you can see within your directional map at the bottom right of the screen. Anyone out of that range will not be able to see what you type. The Society and Team channels, on the other hand, can be used to talk to members regardless of their location.A Society is much like a guild that you might find in other games and you can be invited to a society by another player or apply to one from a society terminal.

Joining a society might help a new player find new friends, get advice, and finding much needed aid. A Team is a temporary group you or another player has formed. Team hunting is discussed in the hunting section. You can private message an individual you come across by right-clicking their avatar and selecting private message. This menu will also allow you to add that avatar as a friend, which will allow you to private message them anytime you are both on. You can not, at least at this time, leave a message or mail to another individual that is not currently on.You can find information for voice chat at.

ExploringSome people choose to explore the different continents alone on foot. Avoiding the red dots, found in the directional map at the bottom right of your screen, can be difficult in some areas and, unless you are very lucky, will result in your death.

When you die, you will revive to the nearest Revival Terminal in the zone you are in. You can gain stats while running from and getting hit by creatures; you will also regain health points after you revive, so dying is not something to really fear. You may, however, be relocated to a revival point that will not have a nearby teleporter and it may be in a location thickly surrounded by strong level creatures. If you find that you are stuck in a location that you can not get out of alone, you may ask for help from the. These players generously come to the rescue of any player free of charge. Note: Don't forget to look for ground items, such as fruits and rocks, while exploring. It is a common goal, when exploring, to collect TPs.

Here are some places to find information on Entropia's TPs and Maps. Planet Calypso - and. RockTropia - and. Next Island - and. Planet Arkadia - andSweatingSweating is one of the only activities that you can do in Entropia that will cost you nothing.

When you first begin the game, you will find a 'VSE Mk1' in you tool tab (wrench icon) in your inventory. To equip, right click on tool and click 'Use Tool'. Find a low level creature just outside the city gates. You can double-left-click the creature to begin sweating. Alternatively, you can right-click the creature and click 'Show Status Bar' and proceed to left-click the status bar. This might be preferable to some, as some creatures will move erratically.

Warning: You are going to die while doing this, but dying costs nothing and you will gain stats in Concentration, Evasion, and Sweat Gathering, to name a few.Popular sweating areas include the Sweat Camp NEast of Port Atlantis and Nea's Place on the Amethera continent. The Sweat Camp is popular because it has low level characters and is close to Port Atlantis. The maximum number of sweat you can gather from these low level creatures is 10, so it is difficult to acquire a lot of sweat in a session. Nea's Place is popular because it has very large creatures which carry a great deal of sweat. Many players will form a circle around one creature and sweat at the same time.

Because so many people are sweating, the creature's focus continuously shifts from player to player, allowing even newbie's a chance to sweat. Should you find yourself at Nea's, remember to maintain the sweating circle. Do not pull in too close or too far away from the sweating group and do not run away if the creature starts attacking you because this may drag the creature away from the rest of the group. When sweating a large creature such as this, you may want to toggle 'Auto-Use' found in the Action Library, but be sure to toggle it off when you are done sweating.Unfortunately, you will not be able to sell your sweat in auction. You can, however, sell your sweat anywhere you can find a buyer, which can be difficult at times.

Players can find buyers in Port Atlantis, the Sweat Camp, and Twin Peaks and sweat usually sells between 2-3 ped/1k sweat. You can find resellers who will purchase lower denominations for a lower price at the Sweat Camp and Twin Peaks.

You can tell other players what you want to sell by typing in the trade chat channel. Nea's Place can be found on the Amethera Continent on Planet Calypso at coordinates 29353, 35515, but it will be very difficult to get there on foot. Here is a survival map found at; the path to nea's is in purple. It will be a lot easier if you can find someone to take you there.Finding Rocks/Fruit/DungThese items can be found randomly along the ground while you are hunting, mining, or exploring. You will only see these items while walking close by their spawning point. To toggle Walk/Run, you can press 'Q', unless you have changed your default hot keys.

If you are actively looking for such items, a good strategy is to pull your viewpoint as far back as it will go, so you can see the ground around you, pick a direction, and press 'R'. Although it will detract from your enjoyment of the landscape, some have found changing the graphics to 'Safe Mode' might help when looking for rocks. To switch to safe mode, go to 'Main Option Menu' located at the top right of your screen, click 'Options Menu', and find 'Graphics'. In Graphics, you will find 'General Graphics Quality' as the bottom of the screen. You can sell items you find to other players or, if you have enough of an item, on auction. You can receive free 'Limited' equipment in the tutorial section of the Calypso Planet.

All items degrade with use and are categorized as 'Limited', not repairable, or 'Unlimited', repairable. HuntingHunting, the killing of creatures for loot, must be done with some sort of weapon. You can not fight creatures with your fists alone, unless you have bought a glove. Many players' first bought weapon will be the 'Sollomate Opalo' found in the trade terminal for 3.80. When buying a weapon as a newbie, you may want to stick with those that are Unlimited, so you can repair it as needed, and you will want to make sure you can use the gun efficiently by checking the stats on the item information window.

You will also find melee weapons in the trade terminal, such as swords and gloves. Though these weapons require no ammo, they do have a high rate of decay. Not all creatures will drop loot and when they do drop loot, it might not cover the cost of killing it. To equip and use a weapon, follow the steps found in the sweating section of this guide. Note: If you are switching from the sweating tool to a gun, be sure to turn off 'Auto-Use' (if you use it), otherwise you might go through your ammo very quickly.Team Hunting: When an individual forms a team, they will set the 'loot rules'. You can check the loot rules of your team by pressing the 'Team' button from the Action Library ('Y') or the Quickbar located at the top left of your screen.

Damage: Decides Order - The individual who did the most damage, receives the highest level item. The second highest value goes to the member who did the second highest damage, etc. Damage: Share Loot - Team members' probability to obtain loot is correlated to the percentage of damage done. Stackable items are divided.

Damage: Item Share - Team members' probability to obtain loot is correlated to the percentage of damage done. Stackables are not divided. Looter Takes All - Unless in pvp, whoever first clicks the corpse takes all of the loot. In pvp, the person who does the most damage takes the loot. Most Damage Wins All - The person that does the most damage takes all of the loot. Queue - The first member of the team, receives the first item, the second, the next, etc. The order is saved between each loot drop, ensuring each member of the team has a chance at loot.

Casual - Distributes the items randomly.Weapon List -Hunting Guide - MiningYou will need to buy an excavator, a finder, and probes to mine. 5 Peds will buy you 100 probes, but multiple probes are dropped for each search. Once purchased, these items are found in the tools tab in your inventory. When you have found a place you want to search, equip the finder.

A window will open on the left side of your screen with several clickable icons. These icons include ore, enmatter, and treasure. (Treasure is not currently installed) When clicked, these icons will light up and display how many probes will be used searching for that material. Presently, it costs 20 probes to search for ore, 10 probes to search for enmatter, and 30 probes to search for both.Once dropped, the display on the left will indicate if any resources were found, what that resource is, and how large the claim size. If successful, a marker will display in your map at the bottom right of your screen and a claim deed will be deposited in the first tab of your inventory. If you are in an unsafe area and you fear you might die trying to get to your claim, you can bring your claim to you, if you are close enough to it, by right-clicking your claim deed and summoning. Each claim has a time limit before it expires, but you will have at least 59 minutes to get to it.

The more valuable the item found, the longer you have to claim it.When you are close enough to your claim that you have a visual on it, be sure to switch to your excavator. Otherwise, you might drop unintentional probes. Double-click on the claim or Right-click on the claim to pull up it's status bar and double-left-click the bar until the claim is depleted.Typical finds for beginning areas are Lysterium stones, if you are looking for ore, or Crude Oil, if you are looking for enmatter. You can either sell these items in their unrefined state or you can refine them by purchasing a refiner tool from the trade terminal. Once equipped, right click to bring up a menu and choose 'Use Tool'.

Drag the items from your inventory into the open space in your refiner and press the refine button. You may want to carry a refiner with you to refine while you are mining if weight has become an issue for you.Note: Most players begin with the Ziplex Z1 Seeker found in the trade terminal, though you can buy a finder from auction. Clicking a finder's item info will tell you if you have the skills required to best use that particular item.Mining Guide -CraftingConstruction requires a Blueprint and a Blueprint Book, which can be purchased from the technician, a white-suited NPC near the auctioneer. Always check the technician and do your homework before purchasing a blueprint from the auction; some players, either by intention or by accident, list blueprints to sell in auction that can be purchased for.01 PEC from the technician. Once you have a BP, drag it to the appropriate BP Book (e.g., Basic Wires BP to a Component BP Book). Find the Construction Terminal, normally near the technician, and operate it to open the construction display. Right-click the BP Book in your inventory and click 'Open Book'.

Click on the item you wish to make. The display will tell you what materials you need and how much. Find the materials in your inventory and drag them to the ingredient window. You will see a slider that will have 'Quality' on one side and 'Quantity' on the other. As a beginner, you will be more concerned with quantity than quality. Many people suggest making basic filters until your skills are higher, though you will probably have to TT any successful attempt.

Most any other basic recipe will produce items that can be sold in auction successfully but will cost more to produce. The Quality Rating (QR) on a BP will increase with use and can be found in the item information window. This score, along with your skills, influences your chance of success. It is to your advantage to stick with low end recipes found in Component Books until you have acquired enough skills to branch into other specializations. A possible by-product of a successful or near successful attempt is residue. Residue can be added with the ingredients to increase the TT value of a non stackable item, such as a gun. Other blueprints are another possible drop.Note: Not only can blueprints make Limited or Unlimited items, the blueprints themselves may be Limited or Unlimited.

Be careful when purchasing a Limited Blueprint in auction. If it is Limited, you can see how many attempts are left on the blueprint from looking at it's information window.Blueprint List -Crafting Resource. Trading With PlayersAfter you have established contact with someone you would like to trade with, you can right-click on their avatar to bring up a menu. There you will find an option to trade. If another player wishes to trade with you, they will confirm on their side. A trade window will open divided horizontally into two halves.

If you are buying something, go to your PED card found in the top tab in your inventory. Right-click on your PED card and extract the amount you are going to trade with the player. Drag the money or item you are trading to your half of the trade window, while the other player does the same. Press the green check mark if you are satisfied and carefully check the confirmation trade window. Accept if you are happy with the trade. If you sold an item, the money will be found in the top tab of your inventory ready to be inserted into your PED card.

Twin Peaks is a good place to sell items to players. It is located at coordinates 77777, 76673. Sometimes helpful people will fly you from Port Atlantis.AuctionA brown-suited auctioneer NPC can usually be found near other game terminals. Here you can buy and sell almost any item found in the game. Be aware that putting an item into Auction will incur a minimum of a.50 PEC auction fee, regardless if the item sells or fails.

The sell item option will open a window where you can drag the item you wish to sell. Once dropped into the window, you will see the TT value of the item, the auction fee for the default sell price, and the percentage of your item's mark up. On the bottom of the window you can choose how many days your auction will be available, up to one week. The auction fee will be the same regardless how many days the item is in auction. You can add a 'Buy Out' price, giving the buyer the ability to buy the item immediately rather than waiting for the end of the auction. Finally, you can choose the price of your item. Note the TT value and auction fee.

If your Buy Out price is less than those two values combined, you will lose money. Here are two formulas to determine an approximate auction fee, should you want to do any offline calculations of your own:. Auction Fee = ((100.MU) + 995)/(MU + 1990); I have used this one but can not find where I originally found it. Auction Fee =To determine the MU (Markup), subtract the price you are selling your item for by the total TT value of your item.

No matter what type of vehicle, a vehicle requires oil to run. (You can buy oil from auction or you can mine crude oil and refine it with a refining tool). Spawn vehicle and drag some oil to the vehicle to fill its gas tank. Vehicles are Limited items but can last long if cared for.

They can suffer two types of damage to its value: damage to its structural integrity(SI) and damage to its TT value. Structural damage incurred by crashing, can be repaired by another player. Some players will do repairs for free to gain stat increases and are often found at Twin Peaks. Damage to the TT value, caused by mobs and PVP, can not be repaired. Types of vehicles include land, water, air, and space transports. Entropia offers an RCE that has top of the line graphics quality and avatar development.
